CDCP Overview and Coverage
CDCP is a Federal program that covers some or all of the cost of preventive and restorative dental care, but with different regulations from private insurance. The government may audit and “claw-back” payments for treatments if they do not follow the guidelines. By participating, you accept these terms and acknowledge that any uncovered charges are your responsibility. Some procedures, like dental implants and cosmetic treatments, are not covered. CDCP Payment Policies
Looking to use your CDCP benefits at Lakefront Family Dental? Here’s what you must do:
- New Card Submission: A new CDCP card is required each year to continue receiving services.
- Late Cancellations and No-Shows: AnTwo late cancellations (less than two business days' notice) or no-shows within a year may result in dismissal from the clinic.
- Co-Pay Requirements: Due to differences between the CDCP and ODA fee guides, a co-pay is required for every visit, collected on the day of service.
- CDCP Card Requirement: Please present your CDCP card at each appointment.
CDCP Co-Pay Calculation Examples
Understanding how CDCP affects cost of care can be confusing at first. Here are a few examples to give you an idea of co-pay expenses.
- Scenario 1: If an ODA procedure costs $125 and the CDCP rate is 80% of the ODA fee, CDCP covers $100. If you qualify for 100% coverage, your co-pay is $25.
- Scenario 2: If you qualify for 60% coverage based on income, CDCP covers $60. Your co-pay is $40 (income adjustment) + $25 (fee difference) = $65.
- Scenario 3: If you qualify for 40% coverage, CDCP covers $40. Your co-pay is $60 (income adjustment) + $25 (fee difference) = $85.
